Philosophy: Today our health and wellness is being impacted more by personal choice than the environment or heredity.  The sedentary lifestyle that many Americans are choosing to lead is contributing to alarming rates of:  childhood obesity, type II diabetes, heart disease, and other health concerns.  The physical education program at W.A. Hough is designed to provide each student with various positive learning experiences.   Our program will focus on: improving one’s fitness level, skill development, basic understanding of game strategies, movement concepts, and appreciation of lifetime activities.  Students in the W. A. Hough physical education classes will also learn cooperation and sportsmanship, while participating in class activities.

Course Topics—Health: Alcohol, Tobacco, and Drugs; Mental and Emotional Health; Nutrition and Physical Education; Personal and Consumer Health

Course Topic—Physical Education:  Activities vary and may include Volleyball, Basketball, Flag Football, Pickleball, Fitness, Soccer, Archery, Ping Pong, and Floor Hockey.
